Dell Problem

I have a Dell Dimension M200a and I trying to repartition,format and install win98. When I boot up to it just hangs and will not detect CDRom to install windows. I am thinking that the board is configured to lock out any changes without Dell authorization. Is anyone out there familiar with this system??????????

I know Dell stop you from being able to put in OS disks from any other PC manufacturer but as long as yours is either a DELL backup OS or a "clean" microsoft version you should have no problem.
Have you checked your boot procedure in the bios to make sure cdrom is used to boot from??
