dell oem cd on new pc?

hi,
i am building a new pc. everything is assembled. trying to poweron. i have a dell oem win-xp cd with no cd key and no coa. the coa was supposed to be attached to the pc. this product was advertised to "not needing product key" the manula says "you may be asked for a cd key under certain conditions". what conditions are those? anybody can help me on this? is there anyway to get this operating system on my new pc?
please help.

so you should use your dell cd on your dell machine,why are you building a new machine,were did you get the dell oem cd. take it back to who you bought it off i think and ask for your money back seems to me to be pirated m8!!!

First of if the computer you are builting does not have a dell motherboard in it, then this forum does not allow anyone to provide information on how to crack the cd so that you can load the WinXP.

Dell OEM recovery disk are supposedly only to be use on computers made by Dell. Sorry but you have to look else where for information on how to crack the WinXp cd.

i don't think you have a clue. i'm not trying to crack anything. these cd's are authorized by dell and microsoft, since they are surplus dell cd's. check in googld under "dell oem cd's" it's available from reputable vendors such as edirectsoftware.com, new egg, etc. it's advertised to work on "new / home-made" machines. they sell anywhere from $49.00 to $89.00. it's guaranteed to work.

1.) What the Guys are trying to tell you is, that on this site we do not condone Piracy nor will we help you... as mentioned it is a DELL OEM CD, ergo Licensed from Microsoft for DELL PC's Only!!!

2.) the way you described it, it is an Unattented Installation CD, which basically has the CD KEY pre-inserted... Just install if it works fine, if it doesn't then go back to the SELLER and get your money back or Install instructions...

3.) Attitude is the wrong way to go about anything... if you do not like the ANSWERS given, then just ignore and go elsewhere for your answer, like certain FORII which cover such dubious ways of life... enough said...

look,
let's get one thing clear: nobody asked about anything on piracy, hacking, or the likes. these products are advertised on edirectsoftware.com, newegg.com, 321electron.com and so on. my point was, they claim that it doesn't need a key. i asked, is the key on the cd? and is that how the cd finds it and processes it unattended?
anyway, i appreciate, as always good answers, but some people who have no clue, don't have to post answers like that. f.y.i: i found out that the dell oem cd works on any new or formatted machine. (a virgin pc).

There is no CD Producted Key encoded into the XP CD. If one is required it is included on the packaging or attached to the machine as a label.

Any entered Product Key is then checked at the Microsoft Clearing House for legality.

All of them seem to say that when you order OEM software you will recieve the License and the COA.

Of course you may have been using these vendor as example and may have actually bought from one of them.

So when you say you have not a COA or CDKet it smacks of someone wanting to do cracking.

The key is on the side or bottom of the dell system. You cant sell software without the key! I am an OEM Systems builder so I know about these things.

As far as building a new system goes, you are not entitled to use all new parts to build a new system and then use an OEM licence.

If the Dell system failed however, due to a hardware problem, such as the motherboard failing, you can change the motherboard (probably along with the case if its a Dell, saying as the cases, PSU, and connectors are non-standard). You will still have to use the original CD Key though, and you will have to re-register the product with Microsoft.

The only time a key is not provided is with an Open Licence of some kind. Then the product belongs to a company!

Our orginal poster claimed to have bought the OEM software from a good vendor. However the vendor did not provide the COA or CDKey.
As you may see I check the vendors out that were quota but all of them stated you would get a COA.

Some of the vendors stated that you were getting Dell disk but it was still genuine product.

So the question still what unreliable vendor did our poster get his software from.

I would like to know so I do not buy from them. I am wait on the answer to this question. Aren't you?

Sometimes vendors leave the key on the back of the disk cover or manual. Sounds as though the vendor may well have been selling priated disks, from what you are saying. The Dell system might have been purchased second hand from a company too. Then the software would belong to the company and would not normally be passed on.
