Delivery Restrictions for multiple users 1

I'm hoping to be able to set delivery restrictions on both outbound and inbound messages for a large group of users at once. I'm surprised that there doesn't seem to be a way to do this using policies. I'm really not too excited about doing this one at a time for my 550 users.

so, you want to set restrictions for say, half of your users? Why not create a new mailbox store, set restrictions on it, and move all the users that you want to restrict into it?

In the properties of a mailbox store I can set storage limits but not, as far as I can tell, limits on the size an incoming or outgoing message can be. The only place I can see to set this is per user in AD, exchange general tab, deliver restrictions button.

Oh, well in that case, you're right. You didn't mention specific mails, just that you wanted to set restrictions...

Just as an aside, you CAN set message size limits for the entire organization ....but I was assuming you just wanted to do this for a percentage of your users?

I did say that I was interested in restricting inbound and outbound messages in the original post...sorry it wasn't more clear.

How do you do it for the whole organization? Once this is set can it still be modified per user in AD?

In Exchange System Manager, go to Global Settings, Message Delivery, right click for Properties and go to the Defaults tab.
Anything you set on an individual mailbox will override this.
