Ok, I have an NT 4.0 server running Exchange 5.5. I have a couple of distribution lists set up on the server that I need to have set so that only certain people can send mail to them. I am aware of the Delivery Restriction tab in the properties of the DL but that is where I am running into problems.
Once I set the restriction, Exchange will not accept any changes to that restriction. I can add or subtract people from the Delivery Restriction lists and Exchange appears to accept the change (it looks like the settings are correct) but it doesnt work.
For Example:
Lets say John was the only one allowed to send an email to the SAles Distribution list. If I go in and remove John and add in Sally, Exchange appears to accept the change. I get no error message and all looks correct. If John sends an email to the Sales dist. list, it will go through (it shouldnt because I just removed him). If Sally sends an email, it does not go through (even though I just added her).
In order to change the Delivery Restrictions on each Dist List I have to delete the list and create a new one.
Has any one run into problems with this? Anyone know a solution?
