Outlook 2000. When forwarding mail from a personal folder on my local drive while online, the message is delivered but remains in the Outbox folder, and never goes to the Sent folder.
How can I fix this?

I know this article referes to Outlook 2002 but it seems to apply to your situation.

SYMPTOMS
When you forward an e-mail message, the message may not be sent. The message may remain in your Outbox folder.

CAUSE
This problem may occur if:
You forward a message from a personal folder (.pst) file. -and-

You have the In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message check box selected.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use either of the following methods.
Method 1: Clear the "In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message" Check Box
To clear the In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message check box:
On the Tools menu, click Options.
On the Preferences tab, click E-mail Options.
In the E-mail Options dialog box, click Advanced E-mail Options.
Click to clear the In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message check box.

Method 2: Force a Send and Receive Action
If you must have the In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message check box selected, clear the Outbox by forcing a send and receive action. Set Outlook to synchronize send and receive messages with the server every five minutes:
Start Outlook.
On the Tools menu, point to Send/Receive Settings.
Click Define Send/Receive Groups.
Click to select the Schedule an automatic send/receive every 5 minutes check box, and then click Close.
Force a send and receive action:
On the Tools menu, point to Send/Receive, and then click Send and Receive All. -or-

Press the F9 key on your keyboard.
NOTE: If you force a send and receive action, you do not prevent this problem from occurring. You only clear the message from the Outbox.
