Deletion of attachments in outlook express 6

i have a problem with outlook express 6 deleting all the attachments on incoming mail and there is no virus scanner or firewall stopping this. The mail servers they are being sent from check out fine and there is nothing else wrong with the computer

OE is not 'deleting' the attachment, it is only blocking access to the [potentially] unsafe attachment. This is a security feature that MS implemented with SP-1 to help prevent the spread of virii and worms by users that open all attachments wether they know what they are or not. If you can't access the attachment, you can't be infected by a virus contained wihtin it.

This statement makes me reluctant to tell you how to turn this feature off. Generally, I only tell people how to turn off this feature if they promise to keep a current release virus scanner updated to the latest definitions at all times and to never open unknown or unexpected attachments.
