I want to dumb down my laptop from w2k server to w98; w2k has too much going on for what I need. Problem is that Ihave no floppy disk drive. Any suggestions would be welcome.

you could create a bootable cd-rom, containing the Win98 installation files, and some system files (fdisk.exe, format.com, sys.com...)
Boot from the cd, and start the setup from your cd Peter Van Eeckhoutte

The Win98 CD is bootable. Boot to it, Cd to the Win98 folder and format the C:\ drive if you are running FAT16 or FAT32. If you are running NTFS then when in the Win98 folder on the CD runFDISK and kill the partition then create a new partition and format. Easy as that.

Hope this helps

Why not use Win2k Professional? It works great for laptops. Even older ones. I put it on a Compaq P166 with 64mb of ram and it ran fine. I can't believe that Win2k Server ran on it though...=)
