Hi

I have three different computers, all with Outlook installed. I have an email account with just POP3, so my options are quite limited. I don´t want problems with an email being on my desktop computer at work when I am away at my customers offices and not being able to get hold of it, so I check the option of leaving a copy of the email on the server. This means I download the same messages to all the computers.

So, to the problem: When I delete the messages, I also want to delete them from the server, which means I have to access the web mail and delete them there. But how do I delete them from my different computers? There are like 400 emails each in the inboxes right now and I don´t want to delete them one by one at all the different places...

Is there a way of deleting the information about which messages Outlook already has downloaded so that it downloads all the emails in the inbox all over again? In that case I could enter the web mail and delete the mails I want and then download just those emails to my computers...

Sorry for the long post... =)

Howdy,

Could you not just use the web mail facility and not bother downloading the messages ??

Hope this helps

Of course I can see the point with doing that, but it also has several flaws, for example with longer time to check new mail (start browser, enter url, enter login info plus all response/download times for all these steps)...

Besides, my web mail has this quirk of logging me out when i´ve written a long message (due to session timeout)...

So, this could be a solution but not a very good one... Thanks anyway... =)

you could tell one computer to delete off the server and have all the others leave it on so when you go to the "main" one, it deletes off the server.

That is one suggestion.

You can set a rule to have your incoming mail go to the delete file. Read them, then right click the delete file to clear the file.

OR, in the same area you told it to leave on the server, tell it to delete it that within a specific time frame, you can choose the time.

Hope that helps,

Thanks for the tips but this still doesn´t solve my problems. I don´t have a primary computer so I can´t delete the mail when I download it to any of them.

And the delete in specific time frames isn´t good either... I may still want to be anble to access my emails through the web mail, even after several months if it is an imortant mail...

My thought was that if I uninstall Outlook from my computer then reinstall it, then Outlook's list of which files it has already downloaded would be empty, and so it would download all the messages again... But I don´t want to uninstall/reistall Outlook once every month so I just want to know if there is a way of accessing/deleting this list...
