Deleting a PRI from a 3 PRI TRK Grp

Good Afternoon,

I have question regarding removing a PRI for a 3 PRI trunk Group on a OS4K v10. I have 2 PRIs on one card and 1PRI
on a separate card. I want to take the second PRI on the card with circuits on it just to keep things
distributed. Would I just delete the B channels on the second circuit on the 2 PRI card or would it be
wiser to delete the PRI on the card with just one circuit then move the second PRI on the 2 circuit card
to the board I deleted the single PRI on ? Thanks !

Sorry but I can't answer your specific question as I am not familiar with your system.. But before you do anything I would suggest learning as much as you can about these PRIs. 1) Does each PRI have it's own D channel (e.g. 23B+D) or does one have the D channel for all three (e.g. 23+D, 24B, and 24B). 2) Is there any trunk group sizing involved? Probably not If so, what's the largest group. If it happens to be bigger than 46 channels then that will need tweaking.

If all three PRI's are in the one BUEND Trunk Group then it will not matter - best practice would be to distribute the three circuits across different cards and shelves.

First of all, you need to do reg-tdcsu:x-x-x-x;
Then you need to do for each PRI
dis-tdcsu:x-x-x-x;
and find the TGRP parameter (trunk group number). If the TGRP is the same for all trunks, then you can remove any trunk PRI from this group. You can use it for new assignments.
If the TGRP are different, then you do not need to remove the PRI until you find out how the it is used.
