I manage one little corner of our university network - about 30 workstations in one department. The environment is Active Directory, a mix of 2K and 2K3 servers. We use roaming user profiles and redirected My Documents, Application Data, and Desktop folders. I have a number of Network Places in my profile. Some of them are old and point to resources that no longer exist. I've deleted them multiple times, but they keep re-appearing. How do I get rid of them permanently? Thanks!

The can reappear if:
. the logon script rebuilds them
. or, if autodiscovery is set on -- See Folder Options, View, and uncheck the first box 'automaticly search for network folders and printers'

Thanks for the tip. Turning off autodiscovery did the trick. Thanks!
