Delete "special folders" like Inbox 1

We are moving users from one Exchange site to another using exmerge. The office is in Germany, and the Outlook installs don't have an inbox, they have whatever "inbox" translates to in German.

When we imported one, it created the original inbox (with the German name), and a new Inbox with no mail. I cannot delete either folder, as the system sees both as "special".

Does anyone know how to delete the special folders such as Inbox, Tasks, Deleted Items, etc? I've looked on Microsoft Support site and technet, but haven't found help.

I had this problem when doing a similar thing on a Spanish site. However, I could delete one of the inboxes.

I found that it was occuring because I was opening the mailbox the very first time using an English Outlook install, whereas the exmerge data coming into the mailbox was in Spanish. If I opened the mailbox on the user's PC (Spanish) it was fine, it would only create one set of system folders.

You could recreate the mailboxes you have already done.

Thank you. That is what we ended up doing, using a users laptop for the merge.
