Do anyone have reference to a thread that will assist me with delayed announcements in a calling group? Thanks in advance.

You can find this information in the Merlin Messaging System Manager's Quick Reference Book on page 135. This will tell you how to set it up. You will have to record your announcements first before doing the actual set up. It works pretty good once you have it completed.

Take an unused calling group. I use 791, it's the last 3-digit group in set-up space.

Assign pool 70 to group 791.

Set the overflow of 791 to the Voice Mail calling group (770?). Under Number Based Overflow, set it to 99. Under Time Based Overflow, set it to about 20 to 25 seconds (it's time, not rings, so tailor fit it).

In the Merlin Messaging, make a mailbox 791 and set it to the Auto Attendant.

Now calls "ring" in 791, and cover to voice mail and are answered by the Auto Attendant.

Night Service on the Operator phone still causes other extensions to ring on incoming, but the 791 overflow still causes the calls to go to the AA after X number of rings.
