Defrag problem

Where i work they are using 98 se and whenever i try and defrag it, the window pops up but the status bar never moves? any suggestions?

I had this same problem once. If I remember correctly you need to click start,go to programs, then accessories, go to system tools, click on disk defragmenter, a box should pop up and ask you to pick a drive. Click on the settings button in the second section you will need to change the setting to this time only. This should slove your problem. It worked for mine.

Next time try the Defrag in Safe Mode. This will prevent any recurring disk changes which cause the program to restart.
