Recently put in new VAL Board and cannot get the VAL Manager to work. Is there any documentation out there? I tried Avaya'a web site and found nothing. Is there a way I can backup my announcements in the meantime? I know you can use FTP but do not know how.

when you insert the board you have to do the following.
change node-names ip:
here you can give the VAL board an IP-address.
change ip-interface:
board possition, Subnetmask and Gateway address.
add datamodule xxxx:
Type is Ethernet
port is position of the board and the port is 33
Link is a free link, c-lan can be 1 then you can use 2 for the VAL board.
Now you can ping the IP of the VAL Board.

Now you can install the VAL Manager Software.
First the JAVA Runtime Environment and then the Manager software.
maybe you have to reboot your pc now.

When you start up the VAL Manager software you see a screen with properties.
Definity Name: just give a name like valboard1
FQDN or IP Address: IP address of the C-LAN.
Port: The port of the C-lan
(You can find the port in the "disp ip-service")
Login Name: you login name of the definity
Password: you password of the definity.
Then OK.

When the VAL Manager is complete start up
you select the Site Name and choose connect.
If the VAL Manager have find a VAL board you see an + in frond of the site name.

Now you are sign in.

Good Luck
