G3 version 7,,, what will i need to make this happen,, do i use the DCE to connect,,, do i need a card, computer software?? Im familiar with Nortel with a RAD,, but not sure of the avenue to take for SMDR and Definity,, pls. help...

I just went through this last week. I have a G3R V4. No DCE output port on the back. If you have a DCE output port then connect right to the back with the device. If you do not have the port then you will have tp programm a data module and connect it via some sort of Data Mod device.
You can go to thread 690-1169706 for further explanation
Good Luck

Best way is the DCE port using 355af to your com port on computer running software to take the rawcall data Microcall is the best but thats me. run a cable inbetween switch 355af to comp. 355am or whatever then you'll need to take that down to a 9 pin for com1. tryed using a data mod on same system g3v4 tall boy could'nt for the life of me get it up and running always junk over a digital station data mod. 355's are hard to come by but they always do the trick for CAS. with only a cat3 or cat 5 with rj45end's straight. had to slow baud rate to 300 works like a champ. ch sys fe_ make it eia all u need, can also monitor incomming traffic if needed and you have pri lines.
