Is there a "Crash kit" or Disaster Recovery kit for a Definity Release 9?
 
In the past I've been involved in projects where the customer wanted an on site "crash kit". Also I've been involved with customers that wanted a disaster recover plan that could be executed within 4 hours at any location that (still) would be available.

It all boils down to:
- making an assesment of the risks and demands, how much money will be lost when an complete outage occurs. How much mony are we willing to spend to keep the DEFINITY working. What level of service is REALLY needed in case of a disaster?
- planning and design, what are all the precautions and procedures to maintain an "up to date" recovery procedure.

If you need a "recovery kit" because you have service contracts with end users make an inventory of all Circuit Packs with their Vintage that your customers use and have a look arround in your warehouse to see what you would be missing in case of a disaster. Also check what the Service Contract says about SLA's.

Bravo Edwin. Essentially, buy duplication to attain fully uniterrupted service OR buy 1 of every control, station, and trunk pack for you to swap out AFTER there is a problem/outage. Avaya has 2 hour response packages but I've never seen them actually show up with the necessary part in less than 24-48 hours. Maybe if you could get a clause in the contract, i.e. 1 Avaya screwup could get you a free crash kit? Depends on the confidence of you AE in the tech staff's performance........ -CL
