Hi All,

my customer have Definity si rel 6 system.
the modem configuration for remote access is configured for internal modem.
when the line is coonected to the system\, the line is always busy, and i think the interface on the system is bad.
i want to know if someone has this problem in the past, and also where is the internal modem card ?
thaks for your response.

Eyal

On all of the Definity systems except the Prologixs and Definity One/IP600s, the modem is built in on one of the cards on the system. If the customer has Avaya maintenance I would refer it to them. If not I would try resets 1 to 4 to try and clear it. The last thing would be change the card involved. I believe the modem is on the processor pack for R6 SI

I have never seen something like that before but I will check the amphenol cabling and the analog line.

I've had similar problems on G3r's we support. The problem was with the built in modem. We ended up replacing the circuit pack. You may need to verify at the location that there is dial tone on pair 25 of your AUX cable. Make sure if you replace the circuit pack that you get the same version card as you are using today so you do not have to upgrade the system.

Hi bhanson184,

what is the circuit pack that i need to replace?
i dont know where is the internal modem is build on?

Eyal

The modem is built in to the processor board. On a G3 v6 si this would be on the TN790 or TN790B board.

Eyal;

There are a lot of vendors out there that offer this pack. I would go to the site first and verify there is dial tone. Also make sure you can get into the system locally via the SAT. Then if needed replace the processor.

the modem is on the 25th pair of the AUX card....this is ran on the amephenol cable to your term block whether it is a 110 or 66....that is where you would connect your telephone line that goes to the terminal or jack that you are using as a remote log in terminal....
