Hi all,

I have a strange new problem with my XP OS. It seems all of my windows default sounds have stopped working. For instance when logging on/off windows, there is no sound. Also I noticed that when I receive new emails in Outlook, i just get a beep, and not the normal Outlook new mail sound.

I checked my Sounds and Audio Devices section and the sound scheme is still set to windows default. In fact if I click on one of the sounds to preview it, it plays fine. So there is nothing wrong with .wav sounds on my laptop. However, it seems a file or setting is corrupt, so it does not call the .wav sounds??

Any ideas???

Thanks in advance for all ideas..

Regards,

MDA

change the sound scheme to something else...see if it works then..if it does then change it back to windows default
