We use Citrix Meteframe 4. I have a bunch of users that have mapped printers, about 15, when they sign on to their local computer. When they sign into Citrix it autocreates all of those, that is fine. They problem is when they go to print they see an multiple instances of each printer, one for every user that has the same printer. It is extremely confusing. If they choose a printer other than their local default they aren't sure which one to choose. How do we fix this?

I don't undestand what you mean. It auto creates the users default printers, but when the users goes to select a printer to print to it shows their printers and every other users printes as well. I only want them to see their printers. Is it possible?

This is usually caused by users being members of the administrators or power users groups, as these groups have can see all printers on the system. If this is the case, the only way to fix the problem is to remove the need for users to members of these groups. It's rare that users actually need to be members of these groups to run applications, however many apps need more permissions that that of a normal user. Regmon & Filemon from sysinternals.com can be used to diagnose what permissions users actually need.

If this only happens in certain apps, then these apps are not utilizing the EnumPrinters function of the Windows API.
