I have about fifty users that use ten computers in a lab type setting. If they logon to a computer that they have not used before, no printer is setup. I would like to be able to setup a default printer for these users to use. This will keep from having to explain to all fifty users how to setup the printer closest to them and will prevent me having to setup printers for fifty users on ten different systmes. Maybe a group policy? Please help.

YOu can make a profile for a defined user, and the install the printer under that profile. After that you can use(copy) this profile for all the users you want to use that particular printer. If they dont have any local profile saved under the same user name you used for this, then when they log in , they will have set that printer.
Does that help? A+, MCP, CCNA

Thanks for your input. This may sound stupid, but how do I create a profile?. What do I use?

If your using win2000, and at least one user has access to the printer you want to use. LOg in as admin (local) , Go to System in control PAnel -->USer Profiles-->Highlight the USername (the one who has acces to the printer you want) and then go to Copy to-->Browse, GO to C:\Documents and Settings-->Here you have to choose "All users"(folder) if you want to copy the user profile you selected, to all the users in that computer; or a particular user in that computer that doesnt have the printer installed. Log off as Admin, and then log in as the user you just copied the profile to (the one who didnt have the printer installed. And then try to Print
Hope you wont have ay troubles around this....
Good luck!!
