We just upgraded an NT4 network to 2000. We are in native mode. I think DHCP is setup incorrectly. When we renew at a 2kpro workstation, we get a valid IP and subnet, but no default gateway. Any ideas?

Go to the DHCP server and make sure you have assigned a client default gateway to that particular scope.

Go to the Scope Options of the scope involved and set the 003 Router option to the address of your default gateway.

MAybe the computer is not communicating at all. That is what it seems.
To check it, you can try using the ping command, or ipconfig /renew, or desconnect the patch cable from the workstation. Boot the computer and check if the IP address is the same.

What do you mean with: That particular IP isn't apart of the main scope ??
If you get an Ip out of the DHCP range, your DHCP is not working, or like koquito said, it's not communicating.

If the answer is here, mark it, others can benefit from it too.

Glad I could help. This place has helped me so much. It feels good to give back a little.
