Default Excel Security Setting 1

As default, when a user logs onto our NT workstations,
the Macro security level on Excel is set high.
Which is causing loads of problems with excel workbooks
I would like it to be set as medium.
So it always asks if to use macros.

I have found the reg key for current user but how do I set it to medium as default for all users?

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Excel\Security]

Any Suggestions?

If you are using Office2k, log into the workstation as an admin and open Excel. Click Tools, Macro, Security and set them to Medium. Copy the Admin profile to the Default User, so when any user logs in, they should have that setting already set. Right click on My Computer, Properties, etc.

cheers mate, but could you tell me the file in the admin profile that this information is carried in ?

So I can copy this, onto all Default users on all my workstations.

Sorry, I honestly don't know. We set up our computer image with the admin profile for all types of settings, Excel macro securities included, such as the size for temp int. files, the time before the screen saver will come on, the password protect on that screen saver, etc. We then will copy the Admin profile to the Default User profile. Does that make any sense?

most of the setting you meationed we set using Policy Editor
for NT Workstation and Group Policy in AD.

But your suggestion did give me an idea to try to add
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\Excel\Microsoft Excel]
"Options6"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Excel\Security]
"Level"=dword:00000001

Too our policy .adm files
