Deducting percent in Excel 3

I am trying to figure out how to take a certain percentage off of a cell in Excel. I have tried different formulas but can't seem to get it. What I am trying to do is create a formula that will deduct 5% off of whatever is in cell B8

I'm not real familiar with formulas in Excel and I am trying to do this for someone at work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

=B8*0.95 if you meant 5% or =B8*0.75 if you really meant 25%.
