Just setup our Dect system, a combination of RFP32 and 34's using all 3711 handsets on a 406V2 with 5.08 loaded.
Two questions, we have some users that will be hot desking based on what shift they are working. Is there anyway to show a logged in user name or extension number on the 3711's display or are we restricted to the base extension number? The other question is more of an issue, the speakerphone on the 3711's work fine if they are working off the base station that is functioning as the ADMM but as soon as they are handed off to another base station the speakerphone no longer functions, call stays connected but nothing over the speaker and we can still carry the call over the earpiece. Anyone seen this before?

Put the codec on G711 on the dect line, don't leave it on auto.

I;ve always been told the hot desking isn't supported on IP DECT so wouldn't think you would get the display to change. the didplay is set on the phone, not through the system.

Yep, IP Dect is effictively just an analogue handset functionally, you can hotdesk using shortcodes but the display will not change :)

Do you have VMPro?
Make a module connect the start point to a generic and put $CLI in the wave path. It will then play the callers extension number.

I always thought the IPO should have a much more integrated DECT system.

From what I've read, DECT R4 is much the same as IP DECT, jut made by Aastra/Ascom rather than Kirk/Polycom.

Anyone know why Avaya have run away from Kirk. They have been making the DECT sytems for them since the SDX days. did they fall out?

It was Detewe, I think the 4 channels per base station killed kirk off for them, plus remote access is a pain as using a modem stopped working and their tech support told us "We can't get it to work consistantly either" we haven't sold any since that gem :)

Thanks for the info, bummer on the display. I am trying to get the $CLI module working, here is what I did.

Under <odules created a module named CurrentUser
Start Point is connected to a Generic and under the Specific tab I have Generic "free format" command with $CLI as the command

I then created a Short Code in Manager with the following values:
Code *66
Feature Voicemail Collect
Telephone Number "CurrentUser"
Line Group ID 0

When I dial *66 it runs the module but it will not play the extension. I put a wav file in the entry just to confirm that it was running the module and the wav file does play. This is across SCN and the VMPro box is on the other side of the SCN (not sure if that matters)

Put the $CLI in the Prompt tab. leave the rest default from the generic. Just the $CLI not $CLI.wav or something like that.
