Deadlocks and 1024 trace

Hi all - sorry posted in Setup and admin with no response and it is driving me bananas trying to debug the programmers deadlocking.

I set a trace 1024 on startup to find out why a particular job is killed as the victim of a deadlock. I have restarted the server and done a dbcc tracestatus and got 1 back so it is running. The job has just been killed as a victim again. Where is the information for the trace output to? I can't see anything in the SQL Server logs for today and it is definately running!
