Hey,

I've got a RedHat Linux 9 DNS and DHCP server for my network. I'm trying to get DHCP to update the DNS records dynamically. I'm sure this has been asked a million times, and I've read DNS & Bind and the DNS and DHCP Cookbook. For whatever reason it isn't clicking. The DNS works great, and the DHCP works great. They just don't work together. I'm trying to go the update-policy route, as the allow-update route is insecure. Are there any guidelines and of you can suggest? Or maybe some good links? Also, my problem may lie in the client setup. What options are needed for a RedHat 9 client to send the hostname to the DHCP server?

Thanks in advance.

Nothing a little babelfish can't fix. ;-)

The solution uses allow-update, but it is a good guide for that way. Thanks for the help. I'll try it this way and see where i get.
