When setting up the DDI do I create an incoming route for each number? If I have numbers that are not assigned yet but will be assigned, how do I have the numbers not assigned go to the operator or Attd?
 
You do make an entry for each but if they match the extn you can either make a wildcard entry or use the MSN tool in Manager to add them, any numbers you don't have destinations for don't add, then they will get routed by the "Any voice" route and you can then see the gaps in the range so you know they are spare :-)

By default there is a incoming call route without a ddi number. All unassigned ddi calls will foolow that incoming call route. So set the destination to the operator and youre done.
If you create a new incoming call route for a specific ddi number then this will take precedence over the empty incoming call route.
 
Can you show me what it looks like with the wildcard? Should all the incoming routes line group ID be the same or should each one be different?

 
Put a * in to the field where you normally put in the DDI.

Ok, not wanting to be an ass - but you are getting "free" installation support from members who have spent time money and long hours working for. this is really basic stuff you are asking, so you should be asking, should i be installing this on a customer site - because i personally think it will end in tears.....
 
You could also use the last three digits as extension number and put one incoming call route in the system

123456780 till 123456789 are your DDI's
Extensions are 780 till 789

Put in:

123456#

Destination #

And with a wildcard a X is what is used and not a * however a * also has a function (cli matching)

In Incoming number put the first few digits then X's for the extn to match for example 123XXX and then a # in Destination, then if I call in on 123456 the destination will be extn 456 :-)

What is this site for? If I have something that I don't know; who should I come to? What is basic to you is not basic to others....I don't know as much as you; so I'm asking for your help.
 
PhonesPhones, while we do often answer questions of a basic nature that is not the purpose of this site really, it's for professionals in a given area troubleshoot more technically demanding stuff, many people come here instead of getting trained and we often help them when we get bored but we also get annoyed by it sometimes :-)

XXX instead of # in the DDI field.



This is basic stuff for an ipoffice engineer.
You know, an engineer who is certified and has spend hours and hours configuring ipo's untill late in the evening because he f#$%ed up one :-)

Call an Avaya business partner and let them set it up.
Then it will be stable and a nice good system instead of a system, that is not stable because of bad programming.
Yes it has it's bugs but a certified engineer can use workarounds most of the time.
