DBA Studio/consloe

With 8i gone - we lost DBA Studio. I guess we have to use the manager consloe to go to enterprise manager. How do you now add a database to the tree. I believe you need to discover the node and it will add the instance to the database list. For that you need to run the agent on the server.

Am I correct or is htere another way to add an instance to the Enterprise Manager consloe list.

Hi, Enterprise Manager Console (in stand-alone mode ) can read your tnsnames.ora file ( if it is in the standard location ) and add those databases to the tree...

Select Navigator..Add Database to Tree ( check, if not checked, the box that refers to reading from your local tnsnames.ora file) and it will show you what it reads from your tnsnames.ora and you can select all or some of them...
