I have a Gateway 500XL with WindowsXP. When I first installed the Dazzle DV80 USB device and began editing video from my camcorder everything worked great. My son really screwed up my computer and had to reinstall winXP 5 times in different ways. Since then I can not get the video to capture correctly. It runs for about 5 seconds and then stops for a few seconds. I have tried all their fixes for it but nothing works. Does anyone have a suggestion? Everything else on the computer is working fine.

I use the Dazzle DVC80 for video capture from my camcorder, and I also have XP. I can't get it to work right with Movie Maker, but it works with MGI Video Wave 4.
It also works good witn Netmeeting.

I would suggest totally removing the device and the software. Then do a shutdown not a restart. Then reinstall. Also get the latest drivers from ,if you don't already have them.

Other than that, I'd say that would solve your problem.

Hope this helps!

This is what I would try first if I were in this situation.

Thanks, but It won't work with any of the video software. It starts to but quits. It just starts dropping massive amounts of frames.

I had to change my audio setting to DVC 80 16 k audio in MGI. Also even though when you preciew it it shows skipped frames, but when you save it to mpeg, avi, or wmv, it will show all the frames.
