I have a DateTime field in my database, and want to prompt users for a date range when running the report...however, it won't let me set the DateTime field = to a parameter!? How should I go about this?

make sure that your parameter have the right type selected.

It tells me that a number, date, date-time, currency, or string is required here...

I've tired defining the parameter field as date-time, date, and string, to no avail...

First confirm the data type of the field as seen by CR.
(see faq149-732).

Where are you posting the formula?

Hmmm...I just tried the same thing I've tried 10 times...only this time when I put the parameter field in the formula, I accidentally put the wrong field in. when it errored and told me "T date-time is required here" (I accidentally used another string parameter field), I deleted it and put in the correct parameter....

Even though it's the same fomula I've tried 10 times, it worked this round...<scratching head> <shrug> I guess that's the best I can do! As long as it works, I have no complaints...

Thanks!
