Probably a simple question but for the life of me I can't find the function.

I'm using CR XI R2, store procedures and SQL Server 2000.

I have a report with a chart in the report header which displayed revenue by month. Y axis being revenue, x axis being month.

My chart looks fine and displays the appropriate information, however the bos wants the dates on the x axis to appear a MMM yy. Note, the graph shows last 12 months rolling so year is paramount to be able to differentiate split years.

I've tried right clicking on an x axis label and trying to find a formatting promperty but nothing relates to the date format. I tried this in both preview and design modes and can't find a property.

I've tried replacing the date field with a formula totexting the date into the required format. That puts it into the right format but screws up the order of months. I thought about customising the order but then it won't work forever as each new will fall outside the customised order.

I've also tried changing the date format in report options and still no joy.

Little help anyone!

Thanks

BP

BP,

Have you tried grouping on the date field (by month) and then going to the Options Tab of the Grouping dialogue box and inserting a Custom Formula in the Customise Group Name Field?
This will allow your groups to be ordered correctly - and allow the chart ot show the group names formatted the way you wanted them to look.

Cheers
