I pretty sure there isn't a way to do this, but i thought i'd ask, just to make sure...

is there a way to have certain fields in a record be a different format in a datasheet form? or should i use the continuous view?

i have 4 columns,

TransDate, TransDesc, TransAmount, Verified

(this is all in a subform)
i wanted to use the datasheet view so i could sort any column, or adjust the column width or change data .. etc .. so i didn't want to use a listbox...

i can use the continuous view, and just have buttons at the top that will sort... but i won't be able to adjust the width of the column ... at least i don't know how to do it if it is in fact possible..

anyway, what i'm trying to do is if the amount in the [TransAmount] field is positive i want it to be bold, if it's negative, then just have it normal.
is this even possible?

Thanks for your help.

If you have version 2000+, look into conditional formatting on the format menu.

In datasheet view, you might use the .ColumnWidth property to alter the columnwidth, in continuous forms, look into the width propert of the control (would need to alter the .Left property of the controls on the right side of it too?).

Ex: Datasheet
[tt]me!txtBox.ColumnWidth = me!txtBox.ColumnWidth +100[/tt]
Continuous
[tt]me!txtBox.Width = me!txtBox.Width + 100 [/tt]
