databases running extremely slow

If you want people to help you need to supply more information.
Is this an issue with some of your db's or is it happening on all of your db's?
What OS are you running?
Do you have enough physical resources?
Is your network bottle-necked?
Does this happen 24x7 or just at certin times of the day?
I could go on, but I hope you get the point.

Running on an NT box? If so, ctrl-alt-delete to bring up the task manager, take a look at the processes and see if any are hogging more than their fair share of resources.
