Database Schema Performance

Hey there,

I have customers in Australia and New Zealand and i am migrating my database to sql server.
I want to design my database for the fastest possible access.
Would it be better to make one database and have the AU and NZ customers in it.
Or should i make two databases and have the two countries seperate.
Will there be any performance differences?

Proximity to the server(s) should be one concern, and number of transactions being the next.

If both databases are to reside on the same server, then your performance should be similar.

Thanks for your reply.

I will put them in seperate databases i think.
All the users are near the server and there is only 30 of them however, i will seperate the countries in to different databases in case one day they want to move the New Zealand operation to New Zealand. =)
