Why is this a problem? As long as you have the disk space then the priv.edb can be 100 GB.
But if you don't have the disk space then:
- Tell users to use .pst instead of the server
- Set Information Store limits -> In Exchange Administrator - Configuration - Servers - Your server name - Highlight "Private Information Store" and click properties. This allows you to set limits on all mailboxes for that server. Use the "Prohibit Send and Receive" to stop anyone from receiving email once they are over that limit. Just make sure under their mailbox the "Use Information Store defaults" in checked.
If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.
