AT the moemnt I make a series of forms

the main one feeding the main table, has an id

the related forms have the share the same id.

However the way I am doing this doesn't really work when multi users are using the database.

What is the best way to ensure that one user workds onm their data.....no matter what form they are using, while another will use their info, and never the twain shall meet?

Can you describe what you mean by it "doesn't really work"? What sorts of errors or problems are you encountering?

This sounds like a record locking issue . . there several approaches to this, depending on what you are trying to accomplish and on what your issues are.

ok, the system I have has one form refencing another 'open' form, and more or less it works. SOme one can move from one form to another and the id number remains the same.
However, I want to know the standard way to do this, because the way I am using is shabby.

If various people are all using it, and all forms are referencing other underlying, open ' forms to get their id numbers, the system is goig to fall to pieces.

I need to know how one user can create a record with a global ID, and then, the rest of their session they will be using that ID number.

If I am on an internet page. I put my user name, and then I only work with my records - how does this work? There must be a simple global ID system
