Data source problem: Informix CLI 3.80 on Windows 98

When I try to add a user or system DSN using the Informix 3.80 driver none of the tabs has any label, and when I type a data source name in and click the apply button the name disappears and I get an ODBC error message, "Data Source Name must be entered." Then I get the error message, "The displayed locale and fileset have not been found on the client machine. Using these locale will result in -23101."

I've had no problems with the Informix 3.33 driver, but our one of our software packages requires this update (our payroll software).

Please help!!

I seem to remember same problem, suggest you get hold of 3.81 which is included in CSDK 2.80. You can download it from

http://www-3.ibm.com/software/data/informix/evaluate.html

Thanks! That DSN is set up now, however I still can't connect to the database. I get a "unable to load translation dll" error. Any additional suggestions?

Sounds like you need to check your PATH variable in C:\autoexec.bat

The CSDK install does not put quotes around the directory name which causes problems if you accept the default location C:\Program Files\Informix. You will need to change it to "C:\Program Files\Informix" and reboot.

This is a problem under Win95/Win98. XP is fine since the PATH is now handled within Windows
