Hi,
Thanks for responding.
I have had the IBM Desktar 60GB drive for quite sometime now and have not had any real problems. The only problems that I have noticed is that each time I try to boot up my pc, it will kick me to the BIOS menu stating that there was an internal frequency error. After being in the menu for sometime, i just exit out of it and restart the machine and everything boots up fine.
Today however, when my pc is trying to boot up I get the following message: "A Disk Read Error Occurred", it then asks me to restart. Each time I try, i get this message.
I'm runny Windows XP, so I tried to see what the problem may be by using the "Recovery Console". When I get the C: prompt, I try to use the "DIR" command and I get the error: "An Error Occurred During Directory Enumeration".
I was able to get the diagnostic tool from IBM and ran it. After doing a quick test, It stated that there may be one or more bad sectors detected and asked If i would like to repair them. I clicked on that option, and when it attempted to run the program, it crashed and froze. It seems like it keeps doing this as if it is having problems maybe accessing the hard drive.
I have also brought my hard drive to another computer at work and i get the same read disk error message while trying to boot up.
Thanks for any suggestions!
