Data Module question

I have a data mod that is labeled INTUITY TO SW, x6XXXX
It is wired to a 4 wire dig circuit pack (TN754B) that I would love to get rid of….
1….what does this data mod do?
2…can I wire it to a 2 wire digital port….TN2181 possibly?

That data module is the link between your Intuity and the switch.
You can go with the CLAN connection and get rid of it if you like.

Be careful. Do a 'status data-module xxxx'. If it shows 'in-service-active' it is being used for the PBX to Intuity link. Depending on your switch version you may be able to change to a C-LAN connection. You have to have the TCP/IP interface software loaded on the Intuity. Your switch must be at least a V7 to use a C-LAN board.

I don't remember if you can use an 8400 Data Module for an Intuity link.

The serial datamodule used to connect the switch to the Intuity is a MPDM or a 7400D as the link requires a synchronous serial connection. The 8400B only supports asynchronous serial connections.
