Data is not available for domain controller

I am running Active Directory on both the DC and the backup DC. I am now getting the following error from the backup DC's AD.

Data is not available from domain controller BACKUP-DC because:
An operation error occurred.
Try again later, or choose another domain controller by selecting Connect to Domain Controller on the Domain context menu.

Has anyone experienced this before? I have looked in the event logs to see if i can see what is causing the error, but there doesnt appear to be anythin

What are you doing when you get the error? Are you trying to use one of the administrator tools?
