Hi,
(BAB 9) I was trying to restore an SQL DB. I wanted to use the tape from friday of the previous week. The logs of all backups of previous week showed all DB backups as FINISHED without any error. When I tried to restore, I got the MEDIA or hardware error :-(((( I could only restored older DB, than this one I wanted :-(( All sessions after this DB I wanted to restore (that were showed as FINISHED backups) are now corrupted :-(( IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET THESE DATA BACK????? BIG THX

to simboy1919: What SCSI controller is it? We tried to change the controller too but it didn't help us :-(

IBM, our library is a Ultrium 3583, 2 drive sleds, 1 18 slot magagine. We're upgrading to 4 drives, 38 slots this weekend.

Have u tried another SCSI cable?

Thanks,
but could you please tell me what SCSI controller do you have inside your backup server?
No, we haven't yet, because when I restore any other FILE (8GB) it is no problem. Only problem is with big DB :-(

I found out, that this is problem with TCP/IP (setup on the SQL agent) backup of the SQL DB. I use named pipes instead of TCP and it works ok.

Hi,

We solved the problem modifying the following values in the registry the server.

Manager Server
o TIMEOUT = 27600 (Dec). In: ComputerAssociates\ BrightStorArcserveBackup\ Base\ Task\ DBAgentsSettings.

SQL Agent Server
* VDI wait time = 1200000
* Maximun VDI wait time for creating files in restore: 90000000.
