I've recently upgraded a program I wrote eight years ago in Access 1.0/2.0 to Access 2000. The program is for a main UK dealer for a major American automobile group and their are about 20 users. All but one workstation in running Win 2k Pro, but the server's still on NT4 Server.

When someone brings their car in, the service staff, select from a menu of over over 350 types of job and this then transfers all the parts needed and set time for the job and produces a "job card" for the technician.

The Parts department add any extra bits that may be needed.

When the job's finished, the customer comes in the details from the job card produce a bill at the press on a button and everything's done.

That's what happens in an ideal world. In the real world what happens OCCASIONALLY the data from another record appears on the invoice at the Service Desk. But all the other PCs are okay. Or it happens on another PC.

The invoice is made up of a form with the Customer and Vehicle and Technician's details all taken from their various tables and stored in the sales invoice table. A subform for the parts is attached to the main form using the Parts table via a query and stores data the Sales Invoice Details table. They link by invoice number.

Any ideas anyone??????
