I have purchased a domain and hosting from an ISP and would like to make information from a database available. I have tried publishing the pages from my machine to the domain but it appears I can only create DAP's or ASP's on my local drives.

Is it possible for me to have a database stored on my domain with real time data available to users. The ISP says they have IIS and SQL server and I have contacted them with a request for information also.

Any help or recommended link/page or forum would be appreciated.

You will have to work out with your ISP, on how they allow you to get a database created in SQL Server. Once you know how to do that (I imagine you will have to send them the table information, and they will have someone build it for you), then you can use ASP/ADO to read and write from your web pages.

Every ISP is different, so they should be able to explain to you exactly what you need to do for THEIR process. I am sure there will be security issues, and passwords, and user setup, etc.

Note: SQL Server syntax is different than Access in some cases. I would suggest finding a book on T-SQL, and learning the syntax differences between the two. Jim Lunde
