D-Link 704 Hack

I just bought a D-Link 704 4 port dsl router which I have running with no problem. The only problem with the router is that my isp supports pppoe which means that I have to log into my router and hit a button to connect to the internet. Does any know a hack that will make the 704 redial when the connection is dropped or any other ideas on this topic. The router has a web based interface so I know is has a cgi-bin that has scripts written in either perl or c. If there was a way I could say ftp into the router and get the scripts and modify thses files, I could get this to work, but i do not know how to do this.
