Customizing subtotals in excel

Hi everyone, I have an Excel form written in vb that adds data onto a sheet.
How do I get subtotals automatically added to the sheet at the end of each month?

Be sure that you have sorted on the major grouping values.

I have tried that but I won't let me select to calculate at teh end of a month, only at date change
