Hello,

Not sure if this is the right forum but.....

One of my clients would like their website to have its own wallpaper for the user to download, easy enough. But they also want the centre of the image to contain a photo that the user selects for themself, so it's personalised.

Is this possible that the wallpaper image can point to a picture on the users computer?

Thanks,

Katherine

Wallpaper is not a screensaver - it's a common misnomer.

To do what your client wants the user would need to upload a file (their photo) to the server, which would then need to run a script to use a simple graphics tool to superimpose that image over a template wallpaper image - i.e. do the same job as pasting the photo over a background. The generated file would then be made available to the user.

That's the theory, but the practice is beyond me! The best place to ask is one of the forums about web stuff.

You could use the active desktop facility of windows to display a webpage as the desktop image.

See the "How to Make a Web Page the Desktop Wallpaper" section of the following page.

You would need to have some system for the user to select the picture that is displayed. Such as VB Script or other.
