Can someone tell me if this is possible and if so, what are the steps to accomplish; 4 people in the accounting Department. The CFO wants to be able to pickup the other 3 peoples lines if they are ringing, however, none of those 3 should be able to pickup a call to the CFO. is it possible to restrict this with a call pickup group? or what is the best way to accomplish this? bridged appearance on the CFO's phone for all 3 of the others? any other suggestions?

d00kie,

it is possible, you should use 'extended group call pickup' feature. i don't recall when it became available but it exists in r9+ versions.

Thanks for the reply. I did some looking on this feature, but there is very little if any documentation on exactly how to use it. I am open to suggestions. I have spent HOURS looking for the Manuals that were supposed to come with the system to no avail. :-(

Here's what I would do:

1. Create a x-port station for the CFO's use (extension 1234).
2. Create a pickup group of the three other individuals and the bogus CFO extension.
3. Give the CFO a bridged-appearence of the bogus extension.
4. Give the CFO a call-pickup button.

Now he has a call pickup button that he can use, but his extension is "out of the loop", so to speak, as far as call-pickups are concerned.

I haven't tested this, but it *should* work okay.

Good luck!
