Hi,

I'm wondering if search engines index files that don't have a standard extension (html, asp, etc.). I want to use some special extensions to distinguish some of the files on my page, and although they would be threated as normal PHPs by the server, I wonder if they will be indexed.

Thanks in advance!

Hi mate,

Good question...

I am not sure about this and it would very likely differ from engine to engine but I think that the major engines would index them properly.

I personally would leave the actual changes for a while and put a document up just now to find out for sure. Just include a hidden link on a page to the document and then a little while down the line check the engines to see.

Hope this helps Wullie
