i few questions below i was aking if i could disable/enable a subform based on password etc. one of the suggestions was using an input box for pw entry and setting visible property etal.

things work grat as long as i use the input box function but if i want to use a custon input box for password entry how can i get it to access the visible p-roperty on the subform to turn it on. can you do it similarly to using the inputbox funtion. the reason i ask is that i get all kind of reference errors when i try to use a custon form for input. when i try and turn the visible property back on it tells me it cant find the control or that the form is closed or locked yada, yada, yada.....

when i'm doing this i have my main form w/ the subforms on screen and the custon pw box pops up in front to allow my entry. my main form is never closed...what stupid little thing am i overlooking!!!! it's been one of those days

If you need more control over inputing data make a new form and turn off the record controls.

You can turn off almost everything on a form so it's just a popup with Password as Asterisks, OK, Cancel.
You name you are in Full control.

There's a POPup property set it to "yes"
Auto Center = YES
Record Selectors = NO
Scroll Bars = Niether
NEVER USE MODAL (LEAVE IT ALONE)

There are a whole mess of them, that's what they are there for.

Leave the "Input" for just Simple Inputs instead of trying to force in do something the Access programmers did not intend it to.

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.
