Does anyone know if its possible to get CUCM 6.x or even 7 working on MS Hyper-V? I have seen posts on how to get it working with VMWare but wondered if it was possible with Windows Server 2008 & Hyper-V?
Windows server is not an OS that CISCO supports starting with version 5.X.
There is also no intent to go back or release a version that runs on WINDOWS anytime soon.
CUCM version 4.3 is the last version that runs on windows and only supports 2007
So unless the virtual envoronment allows you to install LINUX on top of the windows platform 6.x will not install.
Hyper-V is Microsofts Virtual Environment..... It runs as either a Service on top of Windows Server 2008 or as a barebones OS similar to VMWare ESX.
I fully understand CCM5 & later run on top of Linux. I also know that CCM5 recognises when it is installed as a VMWare guest and allows the install as it is a 'supported' OS (for test environemnts). My question was is there any way to install CCM6 as a guest os under MS's Hyper-V?
In practise however you get a Critial Error and the message 'The hardware you are using is not supported for this product. Installation will now halt.'
This is using the CUCM 6.0(1) DVD. If anyone knows a way around this I'd be grateful of the knowledge.
